Austin Family & Portrait Photographer

Comfort is the new luxury
You don't need a perfect family.
You don't need perfectly behaved children.
And you definitely don't need to know how to pose.
You just need to show up as yourselves.
I create relaxed, guided portrait sessions designed to capture genuine connection, personality, and the people you love right now.
Family photography that actually feels like your family
A great family photograph isn't necessarily the one where everyone is looking directly at the camera.
Sometimes it's the way your child reaches for your hand.
The laugh that happens when everyone finally relaxes.
The way your partner looks at you when they think nobody is watching.
Those moments are why I photograph families.
I'll guide you when you need direction, but I'll also leave room for the unexpected moments that make your family yours.
What happens during a family photography session?
You won't be expected to stand perfectly still and smile for an hour.
I'll provide direction, prompts, and ideas to help everyone relax.
We'll create a mixture of traditional portraits, interactions, movement, individual
photographs, and candid moments.
The goal isn't to manufacture a perfect family.
It's to photograph the family you actually have.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why photograph your family at home?
Your home already contains the things that make your family yours.
The couch where everyone piles together.
The backyard where your kids play.
The kitchen where you've made countless meals.
The porch where you drink coffee.
Instead of asking your family to perform somewhere unfamiliar, we can use the places where
you're already comfortable to create photographs that feel authentic.

What if my kids won't cooperate?
That's okay.
Kids don't need to sit still and smile on command for us to make great photographs.
We'll give them room to move, play, explore, and be themselves.
Sometimes the photographs created while everyone is “doing something else” end up being
the photographs you love most.

What should we wear for family photos?

Choose clothing that feels comfortable and reflects your personality. Coordinating colors
generally work better than everyone wearing identical outfits.
Avoid large distracting logos and choose clothing that allows everyone to move comfortably.
I'll help you think through wardrobe choices based on the location, season, and style you're
going for.

Your photographs deserve to be seen.
Your family photographs shouldn't have to disappear into your camera roll.
After your session, you can choose the photographs you love and explore options for turning
them into finished artwork for your home.
Because someday, the photograph on the wall may be worth more to you than the thousands
of photographs sitting on your phone.
